What The Conservative Vs Liberal Ideologies Produce

By Adela Beasley

We hear about the debate, conservative vs liberal, on many things in the news, daily. The set up and presentation of the facts are not always as true as they could be. The unbalanced way in which they are presented is based on the media bias that is unquestionably there. Finding out what each side actually thinks requires additional research.

John F Kennedy was a classical Liberal, however, his thoughts are now considered Conservative. He wanted to decrease the income tax rates to allow people more or their own money to spend as they see fit. Liberals, now, do not believe that. The changing of this philosophy comes with the changing of the label to Progressive.

Progressives believe that people and their money should be parted, more and more, as these politicians know better about how to spend it. It has caused debt and borrowing at unprecedented levels. BY allowing people to keep more of what they earn, they are in charge of their financial futures and the economy can run as it has, driven by market forces. All of the added debt is considered generational theft by Conservatives.

Progressives like to promote their Pro Choice stance. This position is only on one issue. When asked about parents choosing the best school for their children, they are against that choice. When asked about the availability of guns, most of them will state, emphatically, there should be no guns. Conservatives believe in the second amendment of the US Constitution and all other parts of it.

Appealing to the low information voter in an emotional way, the Progressive will use straw men to build their case for more of the same. This will be promoted as being the fix for something that has failed to work properly or worked to make the issue worse. The break down in the American culture can be traced to the installation of these types of programs that fail every time.

The first amendment does resonate in the minds of most Liberals. The section about the free press is acceptable unless the writing or talk is not supportive of their positions. The religious freedoms, they believe, can be voted away by a majority of the Congress and other concepts, such as freedom from prying eyes and ears, should be sacrificed for the good of the country. Conservatives believe the amendments have been placed there for a reason and recognize the authorized way to amend them.

Progressive ideas are well intended, however, that is as far as they get. Using inaccurate science to create a danger for the entire world, they will ignore the well read notices that state the science is anything but settled. Wanting people to believe that anyone owning a gun makes the world more dangerous flies in the face of the second amendment. Conservatives will have any debate of these important issues because they do know the nature and presence of evil in the world.

In deciding what side to choose in any conservative vs liberal debate, look at where the emotional triggers are being applied. Think about the facts of the issue and where the truth actually is. Look at the tenor of the conversation, what is said and, more importantly, what is not said. The right answer will present itself.

Is The Iron Lady Prime Minister Dead? No, Not Really

By Olive Onion Observes

There's a new motion afoot, it's called 'Margaret Thatcher Dead'. Whether it's simply social or political, stays to be seen. Ms Blythe, of South London, has actually been rallying fellow protesters to celebrate her brand-new movement, Margaret Thatcher Dead.

She has established up a Facebook group, calling it 'The Witch is Dead', a subsidiary team of Margaret Thatcher Dead. Is she asking us to disapprove of Margaret Thatcher's slipping out of her mortal coil, all also quickly, and without a hint of hard effort?

Ms Blythe is efficient. She has actually enumerated a list of specifics on Facebook, wondrous troubles that happened in Bristol and Glasgow. The University of East London graduate educates others in drama and specialises in workshops for the youthful.

This lady held a"flash party" to mark Lady Thatcher's passing, with the message: "Anyone else like to join us?". Really jolly indeed.

This woman held a"flash celebration" to note Lady Thatcher's passing, along with the message: "Anyone else like to join us?". Really jolly undoubtedly.

But the girl is deluded. Her Facebook web page checks out: "Come and celebrate our liberty and liberty from tyranny! On the day Maggie stands down, once and for all!"

She states her dad was a leftie and her mom was a Thatcherite. She claimed she is merely commemorating the demise of Thatcher's policies, instead of the mortal being herself.

It's a time to mirror, Ms Blythe said, in these more thriving times, the reality of Thatcherism. It's not celebrating and being mean. It's about making use of that day to review the past, unfortunate though the day may be for some individuals.

So, a calm exhibition of disapproval and letting the Government know we're not stupid and we haven't been persuaded by more thriving times ever since Maggie's reign.

And in case you were thinking of having a jolly in town on Saturday, be warned. 25 locations across the country, are being organised by Class War, with the help of other organizations such as the All London Anarchist Revolutionary Mob, which is of course committed to radical action to undermine the state.

And if you were thinking about having a jolly in the city on the Saturday, be warned. 25 locations across the nation, are being organised by Class War, with the assistance of various other organizations such as the All London Anarchist Revolutionary Mob, which is obviously committed to rabid action to weaken the state.

Ian Bone, of Class War, pointed out that an effigy of Our Lady Thatcher will sit on the 4th plinth in London's Trafalgar Square, which has been recommended as a site for a feasible statuary of the previous prime minister. Bone spoke of the sizable papier-mache statue of Thatcher being done that will be fallen. It will resemble the dimension of the Saddam Hussein one.

He said they wish to celebrate the end of Thatcher. Scotland Yard has launched a significant procedure to respond to threats. Naturally, all policeman leave has actually been revoked, something which I think Lady Thatcher would accept.

I wasn't intending to go to, yet along with this dramatization going on, I may pop Sheeba in her blue cat box and saunter over to Trafalgar Square to witness the process.

Of course, Thatcher is not lifeless yet, not while she's obtaining all this promotion. She enjoyed promotion, and the last time I looked, the Tories were still half-running the country. Ah well.

Whatever you may consider Margaret Thatcher's policies, and some of those were harsh without a doubt, she was a heck of a lady. Whether she boded well or ill for the nation, time will tell.

Definitely, she obtained a new perspective in Britain, and individuals began thinking of their true worth. Which by itself, is a valid point.

She is not easily forgotten. Glenda Jackson's brutal dissection of Thatcher in Parliament recently, got everyone upset.

Perhaps Glenda's ire stems from the fact that long after Glenda is forgotten, Thatcher will still be legend.

So the argument rolls along.

Tips For Investigating A Statue Restoration Service

By Cherry Mercer

Statuary is found in many different places, including cemeteries, public parks, private gardens, memorial sites, and churches. Outdoor statues all share something in common. All of them suffer the effects of pollution and weather. Indoor statuary isn't affected quite as much by pollution or weather, but they can be either deliberately damaged by vandals, or accidentally damaged by well-meaning tourists. For these situations, it would be beneficial to know a reputable statue restoration service.

Statuary is created in all styles and sizes, and is made of numerous different materials. Materials can include chalk, marble, granite, or bronze. Smaller works might be made from cast metals, precious metals, kiln-fired clay, or wood. You might desire to carve something out of a bar of soap, but you probably don't want to display it outside. More modern sculptors might opt for either concrete or some sort of resin. And then, there the unique case of the Statue of Liberty in the United States, which was constructed by installing copper sheathing on to an iron skeleton.

Some statuary media are fairly durable, and other media are relatively fragile. Different media are subject to different kinds of damage. So, for example, if you have a fountain or a swimming pool, it would be wise not to place a bronze or marble statue close to it. The chlorine in the water may cause corrosion to these media.

It's also best to not place statuary close to any shrubs, dense trees, or overgrown ground cover. This could cause biological growth to take root on the sculpture's surface. If you have a statue located in an area such as this, then you'll want to keep things trimmed up.

Some kinds of damage don't occur quickly, and aren't always easily detected. Fungal cells combined with dust can settle on the sculpture's surface. Fungus may then take root and grow, especially if it's on metal, clay, or some type of porous stone. If you don't notice this problem soon, the damage might become impossible to repair.

Here are a few things to consider when you start looking into a restoration job. You will, of course, want to know right around how much the item is worth, so that you can have a better idea of how much you're willing to spend. With a modern, mass-produced item, you'd likely be better off buying a replacement, rather than to repair it. Of course, some items would be of an incalculable value. In these cases, the main consideration might only be of how much cash you can raise to get the project done. You also want to know what material the item is made of, so that you can locate shops who can work with that particular material.

In any case, you'll need to get an estimate of the projected cost. Smaller items could be sent to the service vendor, while larger items would require that a shop representative visit your site. Some shops might require that you send them photographs of the item to be restored. Costs will vary not only based on the damage to be repaired, but also based on the time and materials required to effect the repairs.

Restoring unique or valuable statues can be quite fulfilling. It could even happen that you'd be helping to preserve a part of history. Finding shops that do statue restoration is as easy as doing a Google search.

Points About Current US Foreign Policy In The Middle East

By Alyssa Riggs

Social science places significant emphasis on the study of relations between humans. This includes current US foreign policy in the Middle East which deals with intergovernmental relations. Since governments are operated by humans, relations are between humans in the United States and those in Middle East regional countries.

International relations affect education, international legal issues, defense and a wide range of other political and social relationships. As a result, all government departments have some sort of input into the formulation of the policies. The education department for example would be the lead agency dealing with part exchange student programs. The defense department will have a huge say in overseas military aid.

Public employees, who are specialists, analyst and other relevant personnel work within the various government agencies to assist in the formulation and implementation of foreign relation practices. Personnel working in US embassies abroad and who are in the front line of overseas relations also have significant bearing on how international relations are conducted.

International relations are also influenced by the political party currently in power. Since different political parties have varying views on the world and the US role in it, it goes without saying that foreign relations are affected by the party in power. Some administration for instance may favor a carrot and stick approach. Others may prefer prefer the hammer approach.

International events are rarely very predictable and on many occasions US foreign policy may have to catch up with events on the ground. These events can move with lightning speed making it difficult for policy specialists to keep up. A case in point would be a revolution in a previously friendly country that results in its new political masters becoming hostile overnight. Engagement is always preferable so flexibility in such a situation would be a prudent move. This is relevant because no engagement would mean no influence.

International relations policies also deals with the standards of practice expected from its nationals, businesses and organizations that do business in other countries. For example it is against the law for businesses to bribe other nationalities, entities or outside government officials when trying to get business in those countries. Failure to adhere to these laws results in severe penalties and could include jail time for any citizen caught indulging in such practices.

Allies of the United States are mostly democratic countries. Democracy is a central theme stressed by US state department officials. However, this does not mean the US does not have cordial relations with non democratic countries. It just means that democratically lead countries are viewed in a more favorable light.

Current US foreign policy in the Middle East is complex since it deals with a variety of foreign governments of different political persuasions. All government departments including relevant staff members and outside US agencies including embassy staff assist in the formulation of international relations and laws governing its practices. Current administrations influence how these relationships are carried out and some may favor one type of approach over another. US citizen, organizations and businesses doing business abroad are required to operate within US law. Democratic states may receive preferential treatment from US officials.

Electoral Votes: Larry Shultz

By Larry Shultz

Vote USA Nation - Larry Shultz

A good way to win the US presidential election is learning how the system works. We both know that the USA president is elected through votes. But how are the votes counted? They are counted through the electoral college votes in the US president elect.

The US primary campaign to win the nomination is through the nomination of their party. US campaigns are geared to win through the Electoral college instead of the majority votes. When all of the Electoral votes are awarded, a presidential candidate has to gain over half of them in order to win the presidency. This can often be announced well before all of the states have even announced their winners and all of the Electoral votes are awarded.

This system is something that creates a lot of controversy for a lot of people. Those in opposition have issues with the fact that a president can win the election without winning the popular vote, even though most presidents, including the current President Barack Obama, have in fact won the popular vote.

The president is not elected directly because of majority vote, but by a portion of 538 Electoral Votes given from each particular state as the president wins the votes in the state.

The electoral votes are awarded in the state as the votes are counted, and the real part of the presidential race begins this way. The count is kept as each state announces who won the popular vote and the Electoral College votes are given to the candidate.

Prohibition of The United States

By Jan Everone

The Volstead act or Prohibition act took effect in 1920. In a few states across America laws were already set up in an attempt to stop the consumption of alcohol. These laws were in effect before the 18th amendment (Volstead act, Prohibition act) was passed before congress.

New York was the 1st state to possess such laws passed in 1697. This law plainly stated that all bars and alcohol consumption establishments must close on Sunday. Sunday for the majority of religions is meant to be regarded as a day of rest and prayer rather than drinking. In Georgia in 1735, the government passed its First state wide prohibition on alcohol. The ban endured only seven years and was an utter failure.

In 1851, they attempted yet again to instill a ban on alcohol in Maine, this time it worked better than they had expected. By 1855, a dozen other states had joined Maine in becoming what is known as a "dry state."

After the Civil War in 1880, women of all ages joined the "dries". It was not long before the temperance movement had become a power to be noticed. The conservative Woman's Christian Temperance Union, WCTU, was formed and the Prohibition Party started gaining momentum.

By 1900, over 50% of the continental U . S . was dry. The prohibitionists assumed they had the alcohol ban secured and there was not any possible way for any person to get liquor in a dry state. Regrettably for the dries, the US Postal Service unexpectedly supplied a loophole. Since the USPS was governed by the federal government rather than the state government, alcohol could be mail ordered and shipped by a wet state. This angered the dries. In 1913, an Interstate Liquor Act was approved. This act effectively made it illegal for any individual to send liquor to any dry state whatsoever. The end results was a step backwards for those attempting to keep liquor out because it gave rise to illegal methods of obtaining the alcohol because liquor distilleries were now in league with crime bosses.

In 1917, the 18th amendment was drafted rendering it illegal to purchase, ship or manufacture liquor. This wouldn't sit well with many states. The amendment was argued in congress for a further 2 years. In 1920 Thirty-three states had declared themselves dry which meant a big victory for the prohibition party.

January 29, 1919. The 18th Amendment was ratified making all hard alcohol having an ethanol content exceeding 80 proof (40%) be disallowed. Officially, it banned the making, selling, or transporting of these alcoholic drinks. It was supported by many folks since they thought that only hard liquor was to be banned and that it would be fine to have a glass of wine with food or have a beer in the evening. Nevertheless, it wasn't until 12 months later, the Volstead Act (prohibition act) was passed. The Volstead Act totally banned all alcohol that had more than 1 proof (1/2%) of alcohol. This essentially banned all styles of alcoholic drinks, aside from non-alcoholic beers. When the 18th amendment was ratified, the Volstead Act was brought into the light by the Prohibition supporters. For many of the prohibition supporters who only wanted a little wine or the occasional beer felt as though that they had been betrayed because they were left with absolutely nothing once the act was passed.

One group of people that nobody thought of were the veterans of World War 1. These soldiers felt very betrayed coming back home from battling in the war. Most of them had been stationed in France and came to know how a moderate quantity of alcohol could add to the quality of life. Coming home and learning that the dries had won a complete victory over alcohol added to the bitterness of the veterans disdain. The fatal mistake with prohibition was to ban all forms of alcohol. Eighty percent of the Prohibition Party supporters left the party. Prohibition lasted for 13 years in the United states until in 1933 the 21st amendment was passed to officially end the ban on alcohol.

Ethiopia's Battle With Hardship

By Lewis Vickers

Many people might wonder how Ethiopia continues to be stricken with poverty still today. Since around 1992, the Ethiopia economy is in a dreadful state while financial overall performance is much lower. As much as 45% of individuals are classified as extremely poverty stricken. What's more disturbing is merely 25% of Ethiopia's populace has easy access to suitable potable water.

Ethiopia's poverty resulted in a rise in violent behavior and a growing illegal drug consumption. The nation's cultural and economic health has been threatened due to the rise of many economic challenges like high inflation, where it has increased to record highs. Partly is was due to loose monetary guidelines, civil service wage increases, as well as higher meal costs. Plans have been created to reduce the inflation levels along with the wish of achieving under ten percent in the coming year.

There's a desperate desire to eradicate African poverty overall. It saddens the majority of people to realize that people and especially kids have to suffer in such a way. Interestingly enough, Ethiopia is actually referred to as the water tower of Eastern Africa. This nation has the highest water reserves in the continent, but merely a few irrigation systems are set up. Envision what can end up being accomplished with enough financial aid.

Additionally, most poor families must share their living spaces along with their farm animals while 40% of children have to sleep on the ground. Right now the typical size family of seven individuals would live in a small square footage mud and thatch hut with under 2 hectares of farm land to grow. It goes without saying that these type of living arrangements are usually unacceptable.

Ethiopian poverty forced most individuals to put together their homes by making use of any materials they can find, which often happens to be wood or mud. This creates sub-standard living conditions at all levels. Also, the most urgent demand of all will be appropriate sanitation as a result of non-existent waste material treatment facilities.

Because of malnutrition, hunger, and disease, many a farmer have a very hard time developing their own property, which leads to reduced productivity of agricultural growth. There also is deficiencies in proper irrigation too. Even though problems appear to be far better within the towns, most if not almost all of Ethiopia suffers from lower income and very poor health conditions.

Numerous non-profits continue to be striving towards eliminating the poverty situation in Ethiopia. They are needing our donations to help eliminate the problem. Here is where we can assist by simply giving to these groups. Over time it will benefit everybody who is affected with malnutrition as a result of African poverty, and help restore Eastern Africa to the plentiful land it used to be.

Iron Lady Prime Minister Waves Goodbye

By Olive Onion

La dame de fer (the iron lady) has left the building; departing with her coat buttoned and her dignity intact, as my mother would say.

A few days ago, the mob demonstrated their hatred of her.

The ferocity that the Iron Lady Prime Minister stirred up in the public mind, was unprecedented.

Glenda Jackson spewed venom in the house of commons, mob demonstrations took place on London streets, anger not displayed since the poll tax days.

Unbridled hatred from men and women of all rungs along the rickety social ladder, united by intense, and longstanding grudges against MT.

Bile from all classes, and the usual outpourings from the usual gentlemen with the rotten teeth, a scene Dickens would have relished.

With 4000 police in force and cameras watching each minor episode of the parade, it would have been difficult for the protesters to emit more than a weak boo here and there. This was evident as the coffin was making its way along the route, demonstrators were muffled with applause.

The Iron Lady Prime Minister was wrong in some of her key judgements, but whether or not she was the evil witch portrayed is another matter.

Her limitations and prejudices were on show, yes, indeed they were; never hidden, and to her credit, she never flinched from criticism. Her ambition was obvious; Margaret Thatcher owned up to and expressed her ideas to the hilt; she was often unbearable.

She was a lioness, and a decisive leader. My ancestors in Ireland may spin in their graves, I'm supposed to dislike her for what she represents. Yet I feel admiration. Perhaps Margaret didn't spare much of a thought for those who stumbled outside of her ideology; people such asthe Irish, or those whom she regarded as 'terrorists',people like Nelson Mandela (and maybe also the Scots, was the Baroness of Kilmarnock at St Pauls I wonder?).

Or so we are led to believe.

But how much of this anti-Thatcherism is rhetoric, the story of seething 'socialism', stripped of its innate power and dignity, reduced to rabble rousing contempt, a hatred of her individuality as it may appear in their eyes. Did Margaret Thatcher destroy pure socialism and the welfare state?

Or was socialism already in decline by the time she put the final nail in the lid of its coffin.

In Brighton, her stance against the bombers was brave, foolhardy, and politically brilliant. I believe she was right in facing down the IRA, and who cannot admire such a show of strength against the extortionists of fear.

Her political reign oversaw an era of enormous conflict and social change. When the dust of history settles we may consider her with fresh eyes, or we may not.

If nothing else, we need to understand this lady, what made her tick, what were her true greatnesses, and flaws. Can we learn from her in a balanced, detached, and yes, scientific way, as cold as that seems.

Adopting comfort zone slogans is a useless strategy; a strategy of the weak. It won't teach anyone much. We ought to acknowledge the artfulness of a distinctive mind. Whatever else she was, Margaret Thatcher was possibly the most skilful player of the world political game, at least during the latter half of the 20th Century.

That may be her memory.

Is Margaret Thatcher Really Dead?

By Olive Onion

Margaret Thatcher Dead?

There's a new motion afoot, it's called 'Margaret Thatcher Dead'. Whether it's political or simply social, is uncertain. Ms Blythe, of South London, has been rallying fellow militants to commemorate her new motion, Margaret Thatcher Dead.

She has established up a Facebook team, calling it 'The Witch is Dead', a subsidiary group of Margaret Thatcher Dead. This group currently has over 5,000 participants and ask for "exhibitions of disapproval" across the country. I am uncertain exactly what she implies. Is she asking us to reject Margaret Thatcher for leaving earth too quickly, and without the remotest challenge?

Ms Blythe is nothing if not efficient. She has enumerated a list of specifics on Facebook, joyous riots that took place in Bristol and Glasgow.

The University of East London graduate teaches drama and is an expert in workshops for the young. She is passionate about restoring criminals and explores conflict resolution through drama. There are other ways, but drama is a longstanding favourite with the young.

At a "flash party" to mark Lady Thatcher's passing, she sent a message: "Anyone else like to join us?"

It reminds me of an Irish wake. Very jolly indeed.

However the poor lady is deluded. Her Facebook page reads: "Come and celebrate our liberty and liberty from tyranny! On the day Maggie stands down, at last!".

She says her father was a leftie and her mother was a Thatcherite. She said she is simply enjoying the demise of Thatcher's policies, rather than the person herself. It's a time to reflect, Ms Blythe said, in these thriving times.

It's not about gloating and being mean. It's about using that date to reflect on the past, however unfortunate that day may be for some people

Quote: I'm calling for a peaceful demonstration of disapproval and letting the Government know we're not stupid and we haven't been brainwashed by more prosperous times since then

It's all good, because this is a 'group catharsis', for "survivors of the Thatcher years" those with post-thatcher traumatic stress disorder, a known problem.

And in case you were thinking of having a jolly in town on Saturday, be warned. 25 locations across the country, are being organised by Class War, with the help of other organizations such as the All London Anarchist Revolutionary Mob, which is of course "committed to radical action to undermine the state".

Ian Bone, of Class War, said that an effigy of Our Lady Thatcher will sit on the fourth plinth in London's Trafalgar Square, which has been suggested as a site for a possible statue for the former prime minister.

Quote: There's a large papier-mache statue of Thatcher being done that will be toppled. It will be similar to the size of the Saddam Hussein one. We want to celebrate the end of Thatcher.

Scotland Yard has launched a major counter-offensive. Naturally, all officer leave has been canceled, something of which I am sure Lady Thatcher would approve.

I wasn't expecting to attend, but with all of this stuff going on, I may put Sheeba in her blue cat box and wander over to Trafalgar Square to observe the process.

Obviously, Thatcher is not dead yet, not while she's getting all of this publicity. She delighted in promotion, old Thatch, and the last time I looked, the Tories were still half-running the country.

Ah well.

Tips For Successful Union Avoidance

By Alyssa Riggs

The truth is that workplace relationships are very important in any business organization. As a result, there is an ever increasing need to foster good communication and relations between workers and employers. In this respect, there are a number of tips that can be very useful for union avoidance.

You need to realize that it is all about making the working environment conducive for workers. If they feel oppresses in any way, there are increased chances of unionization. Therefore, you need to have a system that greatly appreciates the input of workers towards the achievement of overall organizational goals.

A point to note is that most employees will unionize when they are dissatisfied about how they are treated. This is why you need to create proper channels of communication so that workers can be open to discuss their issues. Having suggestion boxes and meetings where workers issues can be discussed is very important. An open door policy is also another way to do it.

Once you have put in place policies that favor a good worker relationship climate, it is up to you to make it known to them. You can send personal letters to all employees or have it on the company notice boards. The next step is to deliver whatever you have promised.

Workers pay should be subject to review on the basis of certain criteria. If an employee is well aware of this fact, there are lower chances that they will be dissatisfied. However, this depends on whether the pay is fair in comparison to industry rates. It would also be a wise move to review salaries based on fair the basis such as experience and performance.

It is not just the pay that is important since benefits also have a huge impact on employee satisfaction. Each and every employee should know the benefits that they receive from working for your company. Such benefits can lead to more satisfaction of employees.

You also need to carry out some basic research on the issues that motivate employees. Do not be surprised to note that workers are motivated more than just merely high pay. Other factors that have been established to motivate employees are issues such as responsibility.

This is because the worker is bound to feel much more appreciated for the work they have done. This has the effect of improving their satisfaction levels. You will also realize that there will be an increased tendency to perform their duties to the best of their abilities.

Leaders in top management positions as well as supervisors need to be properly trained on how to solve any disputes or issues that arise. This really matters a lot so you have to ensure that they are well trained on dispute resolution within the firm. It is an easy way to prevent further problems.

Fairness is one other issue that needs to be considered if you plan to be successful at union avoidance. This calls for caution when handling disciplinary issues since all members should be treated fairly. There should be no signs of bias.

How Non-Partisan Information Makes Great Voters

By Tamika Quinn

Election is the time when everyone would have to really think about the choices that they will make. So many times people would be weighing on the kind of candidate they are presented with. Most of the parties would only find ways to discredit their opponents which does not help at all. The least that people can do is to seek for non-partisan political information to make informed choices.

When it is election season, there are many people who get concerned about many good things. The deal is that people will cast their votes for a day but they will have to put up with the results for several years. One thing that many people should do is to think of ways to get to know the candidates. There are groups that devote their time to helping the public with such things.

A good point that people should also consider is that there are many people who encourage the kind of politics available right now. Most of the time, the media would cover the slightest and vague statements of a candidate and blow things out of proportion. The result is that the battle will be all about who has the worse issues to face instead of real platforms that could help people.

The most important thing that non-partisan data can give people is the unbiased presentation of facts. Most people magnify the little data and make things complicated for the public. The half truth and big lie is a commonly used argument that actually should fall on deaf ears. When the data are presented well, everyone gets a good view of things therefore helping them cast informed choices.

The individuals should also realize that not all that the media feeds them is true and unbiased. There are actually chances that these people in television stations also have affiliations with certain parties. The presentation of news items may be tainted which is why the audience should be skeptical.

In so many ways, people should not find an excuse not to attend the sorties. These are venues where they could hear first-hand what these people will be telling them. It would matter so much that they will also talk about the platforms and not just confuse them with flowery statements.

There are groups that dedicate time setting up websites to help the public in choosing the right people. There are less biases in these websites if these are run by groups with little interest in partisan politics. It pays to check these sites as most of the things written are accurate.

The voting public can also choose to look for books that can present various opinions about the matter. These books often present information about the parties and how things evolved from then. There are times when a list of the members and how they are affiliated with others are also presented in the books. Chances are, these provide relevant information for the public to consume.

It is good to note that the non-partisan political information are available for many people. There will always be reasons for people not to be worried about the options that they have. At the end of the day, these things could guide them the moment that they write names of politicians in the ballot.

The Main Reasons Joining Unions Help

By Camille Nicholson

Finding a good job in a stable industry and working well are just few of the things people want. There is so much clamor about not getting enough money or stability and workers feel threatened. To get through the shaky employment horrors, there are people who choose to join unions Australia.

For many people it is not just enough that they land a job, they must see to it that they can hold on until they can retire. For most people, life is about working until they become stable enough. It is ideal however to have a group to help in this situation. This should be a pact where people would look after the back of everyone and make sure they work in the best place possible.

The most important reason for some people is that they will be entitled to get better pay if they are members of labor groups. The prime concern of people is that they will get good pay. Members get to enjoy such as the group could assert it. Anti-labor groups may claim it is a waste but definitely it is not. What is good is that there are members who can enjoy the higher pay more.

Those who are members of the group could also look forward to some benefits. Members can receive pension, paid vacations, sick pay and many other payments. These things are often not honored by companies when dealing with individual employees. Those who are members of groups could however push these rights and see to it that everyone would equally enjoy these.

Safety is also a prime concern of the members. It is important for them to look after everyone. They also want to make sure that all of them will get to work in a safe environment. Because of this, they make sure that their members will be in a place where they will not be hound by accidents.

The members of the group can also feel more sense of pride. This does not mean of course that they can go and belittle other employees. The main thing is that they feel that they are united in a group and most of the time, they push for the welfare of everyone. The things they push would even benefit some of the employees which is really a good thing.

The members will also experience a more stable work life. There will be no reason for the employers to demote or fire an employee without due cause. If ever one is removed from a post without due reasons, the group could take measures to prevent it.

This also gives people the chance to become activists in some way. Looking after the welfare of everyone is actually a good thing. There are many people who want to do this especially when it entails the good of most people. Being a member, one could not just take issues sitting down.

Signing up for unions Australia is somewhat beneficial to the company as well. Most of the members are highly qualified so they can deliver the best results for them. Giving them the good pay will never be a bad idea since they will also give them more.

National debate on gun control heats up

By Cornelius Nunev

The controversy over the right to own guns is the hottest topic today, coast to coast. Gun buyers are heating up sales, fearing that they may not be able to purchase them later on. President Obama is considering using his executive order privilege to push 19 different firearm control measures through, should they not pass Congress. The National Rifle Association is attempting to block the administration. It is a corporation that some believe is tied to the country's firearm industry, which generates $12 billion yearly.

Actions to keep away from gun issues

In 2011, according to the FBI, 10,037,110 background checks were conducted in efforts to buy weapons of numerous kinds. However, that represents only part of the true number of sales. According to the Brady Campaign to Prevent Firearm Violence, some 40 percent of firearm sales occur without background checks. These transactions are conducted online, at firearm shows and through private sellers.

The 19 measures President Obama is considering could consist of imposing stiffer penalties for those who lie on background checks or who traffic in guns, limiting the import of guns from overseas, and greater sharing and scrutiny of the mental health records of would-be gun buyers.

The President has already made it clear that he supports a ban on assault-style weapons and high-capacity clips, over which he will face an uphill battle with Congressional Republicans.

Support of guns

The administration is pushing for more firearm control, and this is making a ton of gun supporters really angry. In fact, many people say they will start a civil war if weapons are taken away. On top of that, Texas Rep. Steve Stockman promises to impeach Obama if there are any executive orders used to pass the laws.

It could be unconstitutional to take away rights in an executive order, and Stockman will fight it.

Lobbying with NRA

The Administration's efforts are being opposed the most emphatically, however, by the National Rifle Association, which is one of the most powerful lobbies in Washington, D.C. In the wake of the Newtown mass shooting tragedy -- the incident that fired up the current national discussion on firearm control -- the NRA has called for armed guards in schools and an examination of video game violence instead of considering the potential for further regulating firearm sales.

The Huffington post explained that the NRA has no ties to the gun industry and is simply there to shield second amendment rights. The NRA's interest has always favored the gun sector over its rank-and-file contributing members.

Dreier said: "The NRA is ... primarily a corporate lobby group working on behalf of the gun and ammo manufacturers, similar to the trade associations that represent car manufacturers ... and other industries. All of them claim to do what's best for the consumers of their products ... but everyone knows that they primarily serve the interests of the corporations who fund and govern them."

Bill C-30 Attack on Freedom

By Roger Frost

A majority of Canadians think that the Conservatives' proposed online surveillance Bill C-30 is too intrusive and should be defeated, according to a poll by Angus-Reid. The poll, conducted February 23-24 and surveying 1,011 respondents on the polling firm's online panel, found 53 per cent of Canadians believe the bill is too intrusive, compared to only 27 per cent who believe the it is necessary to fight online criminal activity.

The Privacy International investigation revealed that surveillance companies commonly promote virtually unlimited monitoring capabilities to governments and police agencies. For example, Italian-based Innova offers "solutions for the interception of any kind of protocols and IP-based communication, such as web browsing, email and web-mails, social networks, peer-to-peer communication, chat and videochat."

Public Safety Minister Vic Toews certainly upped the rhetoric on this debate by connecting critics of the legislation to child pornographers , but Canadians are clearly against some of the basic tenets of the bill. The survey suggests Canadians believe cracking down on online crime is important - but they are not prepared to give up some of their freedoms to do it. In fact after the uproar and eventual withdrawal of the bill, Vic Toews, stated that he hadn't read it.

Section 33 tells us that, 'The Minister may designate persons or classes of persons as inspectors for the purposes of the administration and enforcement of this Act.'..Section 34 spells out the sweeping powers of these "inspectors." And, if they sound Orwellian, welcome to the world of Section 34.

Harper is going to re-introduce the Bill under a new name, which will probably reflect some obscure purpose which they will trot out as the main purpose of the bill. Canadians will not be easily fooled by this tactic and hopefully rail against their elected members of parliament to bow to the electoral needs and requirements rather than just doing as Harper tells them. It is time for Canadians to stand up for themselves and to their elected officials to ensure our freedom and privacy is protected.

After a strong public backlash, the Tories had originally agreed to send Bill C-30 to a Parliamentary committee for review before Second Reading - a rare step that invited opposition input before the government itself had even signalled its support for the Bill. The government had even pre-emptively declared itself willing to consider what the opposition had to say - and the Tories weren't particularly good at that even when, as a minority, they needed opposition support much more than they do now. But they might be giving it even more review - Saturday's Globe and Mail reports that the Tories are taking their foot off the gas pedal. While sources in the government told the Globe that the Conservatives still plan to push ahead with C-30, the timing of their next move is unclear.

Politics + Art

Artists are often very perceptive people - they create their works because of a necessity to express themselves, to show their feelings, opinions and reactions, to express their hopes. And since politics is everywhere in our life, often it is one of the things that artists are reacting to in some way.

Here we are not going to speak about how art can be used in politics. The aim of this article is to show how art can influence politics, how art can help people to discuss what is right and what is wrong, and even how art gives us an opportunity to remember our old significant mistakes, so we does not repeat them again.

The idea of how politics can influence art and vice-versa can be illustrated by the history of one painting, "Guernica" by Pablo Picasso. It was created by the famous artist in 1937 to the order of the Spanish Republican government and is dedicated to the bombing of Guernica (an aerial attack on the Basque town of Guernica by the German military unit Condor Legion in the period of the Spanish Civil War).

In this painting Picasso rejected realism, he drew only what he considered to be essential things, and he relied on the associative relations of viewers, so that we can experience the tragedy of these people. In the beginning "Guernica" wasn't highly esteemed, but later it came to be held in high regard and Dolores Ibarruri, a Spanish Republican, said that even if Picasso hadn't drawn anything except "Guernica" during his life, he would still have been one of the best painters of the period.

A copy of this painting was displayed in the United Nations building in New York City from 1985. In 2003, when discussions regarding the preparations for the Iraq war were ongoing, the painting was veiled with a blue curtain. The official statement was that the painting made a bad background for the diplomats' press conferences, and the UN-spokesperson said "We had a problem with, you know, the horse." In 2009 the painting was moved to a gallery in London.

Although "Guernica" can`t say a word, nevertheless it seems that we can hear bomb explosions and high-pitch cry through it, we can feel all its horror and hopelessness. This painting shows that art is not only a matter of a canvas with paint on it, but rather an expression of live history. It was drawn under the influence of political events, and now it influences politics. It forces politicians to think, to understand all the effects that can cause their decision. In this way, art has the ability to influence politics, just as it is influenced by it in its turn.
