The believers in the second amendment have quite a few different groups that are trying to undermine their ability to arm themselves. These will include, of course, those who do not believe those rights are proper to be held by regular people. Some of those groups are the law makers who have sworn to uphold the US Constitution that states we do have those rights. In order to protect our 2nd amendment rights, we also have to do battle, verbally, with the fourth estate.

A lot of the people who are speaking to the media are the celebrities and others of the shakers and movers class. These are people who are on the current most respected list of people and have an almost unchallenged status in whatever they are talking about. Most of these have or have had concealed weapons permits and feel they should not have to follow the laws they want to see enacted.

A prominent Senator from New York has stated, recently, that assault weapons have been claiming the lives of millions of kids. This outright lie has been duly broadcast and published on many of the major media outlets without verification of facts, simply because there are none. The emotional stories that make the headlines are rarely, if ever, backed up by pier reviewed materials based on real studies.

The press did not report that the shooter, in the movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, went out of his way to find a source of live bodies in a place where no law abiding person could carry a weapon. The lawmakers, as well as the media like to promote these gun free zones. When invited to place this type a sign in front of their homes, they decline.

To read and listen to the media, gun crimes are exploding. This does not bear up to the facts as gun crimes have fallen since its high in 1993. The national news outlets would have you believe we are living in such a state of gun fire it is unsafe to leave your homes. The local papers and broadcasts, where crimes are supposed to happen, do not follow suit and report fairly accurately about what is not going on.

The 27 words in the second amendment talk about individual rights to keep and bear arms. This, we also read, is to help maintain a free society. It does not address hunting, something that the framers did on a regular basis. It implies the common used weapons of the day. It addresses self defense against those that would deny a free society to others.

The States and communities that have enacted the harshest gun laws are the areas that have the most gun crimes, even now. Part of what the lawmakers and the media say they are after is safe streets and common sense reforms to the laws we now have. Whet they propose is to deny the commonly used weapons of today being able to be held by those individuals mentioned in the second amendment.

When looking at any law that comes out and states they are wanting common sense reforms, check the fine print. The ability to protect our 2nd amendment rights will allow us to be able to protect all of the other rights. That information about those rights and their necessity will not come from the dominant media as they have a vested interest in rolling many of our rights back.

The idea of political responsibility is a reasonably new one considering how long mankind has been running around on two legs. In the far past it was the current god's chosen, whoever was strongest or basically had the strongest armies that held power over common people. Most people had quite little to say and do with any direction their city, country or clan moved in.

This doctrine was a political and religious view held by monarchs that kingship role was that of a steward to their people. This stewardship was given to them by the will of God. Part of this stems from the ancient idea that God bestowed the earthly power to rule by a spiritual force. It was also felt that the spiritual leadership was given over to some form of religious leader to lead the masses on the road to faith. These leaders had a responsibility to the people to look out for them and always do what was in their best interest. Sadly power, great and otherwise often corrupts.

Shortly before 1688 and after the glorious revolution this idea was abandoned by many. It further weakened even more with the start of the French revolution and the American revolution and in the end of the 18th century. Humanity began to believe that they should pick the people who ruled themselves so if they did a poor job, they replace them.

With the downfall of most modern monarchies, the churches from where they supposedly received their authority declined in power and influence as well. As more and more splinter regions were formed people began to realize that their relationship with whatever god they followed was a personal one. Because of the personal nature of this relationship, it should not be dictated to them how to express their faith by another man.

From this historical revelation came the thought that every person is sovereign over themselves and with this follows the great responsibility to decide who would rule over them. In many cases there are a group of different people chosen directly or indirectly for this purpose. This groups of chose people has several different names. They are called bureaus, congress, parliament and councils to name a few.

History has shown us that bad people still crave power. Often they try to seat themselves in these places of power voted on by their fellow man whether it is through deception or other nefarious means. It falls to each person to dispose of these bad people to protect themselves and their fellow man.

It has been only about 500 years since mankind has woken up to the principle of political responsibility. The belief that all people are a ruling sovereign over themselves and thus capable of making these choices for themselves. As a sovereign, these people should remember they are also responsible for any people they have put in charge, for the good and bad.

By Tuesday, it seemed as if the balance of media and "expert" viewpoint had swung in the predictable direction of concluding that the assailants were Muslims, in part due to the fact that they made use of pressure cookers in their bombs-- a hallmark of Al Qaeda.

But no matter. Whoever it is ultimately proven was behind the attacks, the Obama administration will end up spinning the Boston Marathon bombings as an excuse for heightened oppression of the American people.

StingRay gives LAPD power to spy on non-suspects' phones

What has the LAPD done now? According to L.A. Weekly, the police have used the supposedly terror investigation only StingRay technology and spied upon non-suspects.

Of the 155 StingRay cellular phone investigation cases the LAPD faced between June and September last year, over 13 percent of cases exposed the communications of innocent non-suspects without their awareness or consent. The LAPD has had access to StingRay technology since 2006, because of subsidies from the federal Department of Homeland Security. The intent was for StingRay to be used specifically for terrorism investigations, but the LAPD has documented proof that there have been burglary, narcotic and murder inspections where StingRay was pressed into use. As yet, LAPD officials have refused to address questions regarding the StingRay technology, such as whether the department thinks it has the legal right to use the technology in a way that invades the privacy of non-suspects.

The First Amendment Coalition executive director Peter Scheer does not think the LAPD should be able to use this kind of technology. It is virtually impossible to stay away from intercepting other people with the StingRay technology, according to those who use the technology, but the LAPD guides do not even make it clear whether or not this is unlawful.
